Project management is the planning and organization of a company’s resources to move a specific task , event, or duty toward completion . It can involve a one – time project or an ongoing activity. One resources managed include personal, finances, technology, and intellectual property Understanding project management Generally speaking, the project management, process include the following stages , planning, initiation, execution, monitoring, and closing, we will discuss each of these stages in more depth later in the article Project management often is associated with field in engineering and construction and more likely, health and information technology ( lT) , which typically have a complete set of components. That have to be completed and assemble in a set fashion to creat a functioning product. No matter the industry. Project managers tend to have roughly the same job to help defined the goals and objectives of the project and determine when the various projects and components are to be completed and by whom . They also create quality control check to ensure completed components meets a certain standard. Important From start to finish, every project needs a plan that outline how things will set off the ground , how they will be built, and how they will finish. Every project usually has a budget and a time frame. Project management users a type of triange process to keep everything moving smoothly, ontime, and on budget. That means when the planned the project manager may keep all the team members working on the project to finish on schedule. Many types of project management have been developed to meet the specific needs of certain industries. Three of those types are waterfall, Agile, and lean. Types of project management 1-Waterfall project management This similar to traditional project management, But include the caveat that each task needs to be completed before the next one starts . Steps are linea and progress flows in one direction like a waterfall because of this , attention to task sequence and timelines is very important in this type of project management. 2- Agile project management The computer software industry was one of the first to use this methodology. With the basis originating in the 12 core principles of the agile manifesto, Agile project management is an iterative process focused on the continuous monitoring and improvement of deliverables. At its core , High quality deliverables and a result of providing. Customer value, team interaction and adapting to current business circumstances. 3- lean project management This methodology is all about avoiding waste , both of time and of resources. The main idea is to create more value for customers with fewer resources. When managing a project with this approach, it goal is similar to that of the lean interprise production principle . The only resources that will be used on the project are those that directly contribute to its successful completion. 4- kanban project management It is e highly visual and intuitive project management methodology designed to optimize workflow and enhance productivity. At its core , kanban relies on a kanban board, a visual representative of the project’s task and their status. Tasks are depicted as cards that move through different stages of the workflow, typically represented as columns on the board, such as “to do” ” in progress” and ” done” Steps of project management Phase 1 initiation The initiation phase serves as the genesis of the project, when an idea is nurtured into a clear vision. It involves brainstorming the feasibility studies, and refining the project concept to align with organization goal and stakeholders needs Phase 2: planning Planning is the phaes where the blueprint for the proyid crafted . planning involves breaking down the project into manageable task , sequencing them logically, estimating resources, and developing a comprehensive project plan. Phase 3: execution The execution phase is when the project plan comes to life , and the project team swings into action. Tasks are assigned, and the project team members collaborate to bring the project deliverable to fruition. quality assurance processes are implement to verify that project deliverables impact the specified quality standards. Phase 4: monitoring Once the project is underway, it monitoring phase involves tracking project performance against the plan , identitying and deviation or issues, and taking corrective action to bring project back to course. Phase 5: closing The closing phase marks the culvenirable of the project journey, loose ends are tied , and hopefully, accomplishment are celebrated in the closing phase, the final deliverables are handed over to the customers or end of users and any remaining administrative tasks
